Foster Parenting
Kids Count Too understands that the foster parenting process can be overwhelming. Our staff members will competently work with you from start to finish beginning with your first call or visit to the office with understanding, support and professionalism.
Foster children range in age between 0 to 18 and include various ethnic backgrounds. During the application process we will ask you which ages and ethnicities you are most comfortable with and our agency staff and county workers will work as a team to provide the best possible matches between our foster families and children.
Once licensed, foster parents provide temporary care for children who have been removed from their families due to physical, sexual or emotional abuse, neglect or if the parent is otherwise unavailable. Foster parents offer day to day care and guidance until the child can be reunited with his or her birth family, move to a kinship or permanent adoptive family or until they emancipate. Caseworkers work closely with foster parents to identify and meet the individual needs of the child(ren). Foster parents are those people who have chosen to become that temporary family for children in need and to provide the daily basics such as food, clothing and shelter with love, stability, guidance and discipline as well as tend to medical needs and counseling if necessary.
